Retire To Belize Knowledge Base

What is necessary to retire in Belize (British Honduras) & live well on $800/month? English speaking only.? Do most cities in Belize have broad-band interconnection service? Good American TV network availability? What is highest temperature each month of the year. I like it cool, not hot. Can respond directly to sbar@myway.com
How do I find work in the country of Belize(Central America)? I am 42 and plan on moving to Belize. I have done many careers and want to retire eventually in Belize.
i am looking into buying proerty in Belize, specifically Ambergris cay? I am wondering about crime rates, water clarity, beaches, poverty and standard of living. How expensive are things? How difficult / expensive is it to get supplies from the mainland Given a choice between Ambergris Cay, Placencia and a new development across the bay from Chetumal Mexico whats your opinion. I want a rental income property for now but something that I could perhaps retire to in 20 years. I love the caribbean and wish I could afford something in the Virgin Islands but thats not happening so I figured I would try something on the other side or the Caribbean Sea. Any suggestions, opinions or info would help.
Nicarugua? Is that a good country for my old Uncle to retire to? He has looked into Belize and Costa Rico but those counties are too 'civilized' for him. He wants a bit of a challenge, maybe in starting a small tourist business. And what Spanish DVD's are best for learning the language? Is "Rocket Spanish " any good? Rosetta Stone? Wasn't Daniel Ortega a dictator and drug czar? Maybe he's cleaned up his image?

I want to leave the U.S. any suggestions? I'm 42 retired from one job but still working at another. I've come to the realization that I'm not working because I have to but because I've been conditioned to. I have everything I need and I don't have any wants--my idea of living is not owning some piece of suburbia and working like a slave to pay for it and buy more "stuff" and work until I'm in the grave. I make around $3,000.00 monthly from retirement and investment income and I also have a job--but I want to quit the job and find a place where I can comfortably live off the 3k per month. I've lived in Germany, Italy, Korea, Guam, and Jamaica over the years--but I'm ready to leave and start a life someplace, I just don't know where or how to get started. I've considered Belize, and Germany or the U.K. but I think with the money I'll have Europe may be out of the question--unless Russia or someplace in Eastern Europe. Anyone have ideas? if you've done this; how did you do it? it's just my wife and I this should be easy. Rigth?
