My wife and I are going to retire to N/Zealand Christchurch to join our Son next year .?

Any one out there who might be able to tell me what area's i would live in or any other comments would be great. From Ireland. Roll on next year. horray.

1. Even the scungiest parts of Christchurch aren't too bad. They are Aranui, Sydenham (at least one NZ prime minister lived there), St. Albans, Sockburn and Hornby. The most expensive parts are Fendalton, Bryndwr and the Cashmere Hills. Chch. has an air pollution problem, which is fairly minor by European standards, but in the Cashmere Hills you're abovethe inversion layer which traps smog below it.
2. Christchuch is a beutiful city! Good choice to move there. Umm. I would agree with the previous comment about the areas. Although, all of Christchurch is quite nice. There is a lot to do in Christchurch. From beaches to snow, it is all there! I live in Nelson, at the top of the south island! It's great here to. Hope you move, have lots of fun!
