best country to retire

Why is it that even women in thu uk are believing that a womans place is in the house, cooking and cleaning?

Im in new zealand for 6 months in my partners house at the moment with my partner and 3 yr old girl. My partner is 43 and im 21, although my partner is not my daughters father he fully accepts that my only responsibility is to my child and her future, therefore he encourages me to take her to every mums and tots event there is in the morning while he cleans and prepares lunch so that we can spend time together in the afternoon. Its not that hes desperate, his kids r grown up and he has had such a sucessful career in the fire service he has now retired and runs several businesses, so why cant more men, and indeed after reading a few answers on this, women adapt to the times and stop being so pig headed? a mothers duty is surely to provide a happy childhood, is that keeping them in the house while you cook and clean for their arrogant fathers? Surely not!

Public Comments

  1. because they like to stick to old traditions.
  2. no they will everywhere
  3. Is your computer in the kitchen? If not, who let you out?
  4. I think you're the one with the stereo typical view of men. He is old enough to be you're father, he is financially secure, and he wants you out of the way. He is self sufficient and only needs you for sex.
  5. Every one has free will and should make their own choices. Respect that and lead you life your way and others theirs, and dodn't criticise them for their decisions. Before you yell typical male, I'm a single parent of 3 who works full time as well.
  6. hey Hun...he's looking after your daughters best interests, there's not many men who would do this for another mans child...you got a good one there Hun....he seems like a keeper...and he seems to love your daughter just as much as he loves you...he's a good man
  7. But you're one of the lucky ones - you have a partner who can be around during the day. For the vast majority of women, their husband is out at work all day, often well into the evening. I don't think that, under these circumstances, its too much to ask that the woman cares for the house and kids in his absence. But, I take your point, men generally still leave EVERYTHING up to the women, and that's never been fair. But I feel that we now live in a society where women were allowed to choose how they live, and if they choose to be a stay at home mum, then good on 'em.
  8. Male cheauvinism, arrogance, bigotry, and abusiveness are universal. Women have been mistreated since the dawn of time.

  10. Yes, too many men think they're heroes for 'helping' with the housework. And I've heard so many women boast 'oh yes, my husband does my ironing for me!' "My" ironing! When it's his shirts! Good grief. Your partner has the right idea and by the way there's aren't many men in his situation who would cope so graciously with a 3 yr old invading their neat and tidy home!
  11. lol,, nice one? I JUST GOT RID OFF MY EX FOR HIS BELIEFS (A WOMANS PLACE IS IN THE KITCHEN) at least some men live in thE real world then?
  12. What are you doing with a 43 yr. old man? You cant possibly have anything in common. He's acting like your Father, not your "partner".
