  1. Because it's a beautyful country, nice people, superb food and for many cheaper than back home. The climate is also good for many health problems... I choose Phuket to live on.
  2. good life in Thailand
  3. I'm Thai but I used to meet some guy from Italy. He said to me that he had the good life after his retirement because he got his salary only a small number of money about 700 USD. per month and could not live in Italy with a little money, he might be baggar in Italy. Now, he got marry with Thai woman and very happy. He lived in Bang Khun Tiane, Bangkok. His son always fly to Thailand to visit him.
  4. I haven't retired there yet, but plan to. I lived there several years for my husband's work. When we returned to the US, I missed it so much :( The people are friendly and I made great friends, food is good, everything is convenient and simple. The weather is great! I really like that you don't have to drive a car all the time to get what you need. All your neighbors become your friends. Everyone shares food and are always talking about every topic. I'm from the southeast United States, lived on Phuket in Patong Beach, and we plan to retire there :)
  5. If the food weren't so hot, maybe I would consider it
  6. Thailand has a great lifestyle for the retired foreigner. Quick access to prive health care at low prices, golfing, entertainment, selection of food of western and asian food, hot women who like older men and take care of them like a god if she's not a hooker. The majority of Falongs (Foreigners) that retire in are mainly British, German, Swed and other Europians. Then there are Americans and Canadians. There are a good number of retired Japanese, Singaporeans and Koreans also. The main places that have large populations of foreign retired people are Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Udon Thani and Chiang Mai. Foreigners are sparce outside of these areas except for the occational foreigner that can make a major adjustment in lifestyle and live in his wife's home town. 90% of foreigners that retire here are male and most are single or have a thai wife.
  7. i have business in thailand-because pattaya is sin city, very crazy and everybody are welcome there
  8. I am from the USA and live in Bangkok. The weather is great although hot at times, but better than the snow back home. The people are loving and friendly and very respectful, not like NYC where I lived. Food is good and everything is inexpensive not like NYC.
