2. I am retired in Thailand and it was very easy. Go to the Thailand Embassy website and follower the instructions. An applicant ion, photos, medical certificate from your doctor, documents showing income of 65,000 baht a month (about 38 baht to a dollar), a police check showing no criminal record, and prove of marriage (marriage certificate). It's really very easy. I just finish my first year and completed a 1 year extension which was even easier. However If your on a retired visa you can not work. 3. Nowhereman is right but if you cannot prove SS/Pension of 65000 Baht you can deposit and prove 800000 Baht in a Thai Bank. Then you can spend or move it but in 1 year you will have to prove [redeposit] it.
