  1. hi robert! im a travel agent in the philippines. for short stay, there are hotel and condotel that you can stay with depends on your budget. but if you will stay longer, i do recommend that you stay in an apartment (depends also how long). The rates depends on the location and the size of the area. For gimick places or night life "with ladies", you can stay near ermita manila. if you are interested, pls coordinate with me at lindaltan@yahoo.com for further assistance.
  2. u have atleast more than a year to back out!!!!!!!!...lol just kidding... well u can rent an apartment better if its located in Makati area coz its near alot of shopping malls and bars....just don't forget to befriend ur neighbors....so if ever u get bored u cn always have someone to talk too....or accompany u when going out...good luck!!!!!
  3. Hi, Hmmmmm... many, many sweet islands (7107) are waiting for an active person which also wants to learn about the uses and the culture of the Philippines... For the Culture, you could have a very nice approach on this, in the island Cebu (many nice churches and souvenirs from the Spanish colonization).... Last but not least if you like to dive, there is a very nice and typical village called "Moalboal" known by many insiders from all around the world. If you wish to rest and have a good fun too... you are almost welcome on the world famous, white sandy beaches in the island of Boracay (northern point of the island of Panay). Last but not least ... if you like unspoiled & wild nature .. and see one of the most hidden blue lagoons in this world, go to El Nido on the Island of Palawan, a scuba divers paradise also ... The other good thing is that you can reach all those unforgetable places within an hour by plane starting from Manila domestic airport. Welcome to the Philippines !
  4. sorsogon or gubat is malaria free and has nice girls or cagyan de oro has more girls
  5. There are housing units for rent in Davao City that caters the needs of foreigners staying for more than one month.
  6. robert, baguio or tagaytay is the best for me bec.of it's cool climate.if you prefer beaches, try to go to olongapo city which i'm living right now.name it we have it,from small restaurant to big luxurious hotels.i'm sure you have enough retirement pay that can sustain your needs cause of conversion rate of 49 pesos to a us dollar.hope this help you out.
  7. Hi Robert, I am retired USN and have been living in Iloilo City in the Visayas region 6 (middle). It's a smaller, but growing city with plenty of nice resorts, resturants, shopping malls and best of all the biggest and best Tricare provider in the Philippines. Being retired health care becomes an important issue. No shortage of beautiful women here as is the case most everywhere else in the Philippines. Cost of living here: 3/4 br house in a nice subdivision P20,000 ($400) 1 room in a decent pensionne house with aircon and h/w catv. P13,000 ($260) to P15,000 ($300) . A pensionne house is the closest thing you'll find to a furnished 1 br place that you can rent month to month. 1 or 2 bedroom places are all but impossible to find. Furnished Apartments or houses are non existant. CATV P550 ($12) and DSL 386k P 1,000 ($20) a month is availible. You can survive here or in Bacolod for $600 a month. You can live very comfortably on $ 900 a month. Living in our area is at lest 1/3 cheaper than Manila or Cebu. That's the short answear. Fell free to E mail me if you'd like to know more. Paul in Iloilo
  8. Cebu is the one I can recomend, its safe and the People in general are Friendly. You will meet some ladies if you will be nice To them. Cost of living if your 20 Thousand pesos a month which is Equivalent to 400 $ a month you can survive her.
