Now that Fidel Castro has retired from politics who else believes that the United States should make an?
approach to Cuba to resolve past differences. Since the Spanish American War and subsequent imperialist leanings in Cuba led to the revolution perhaps this would be a good time to let bygones-be-bygones on both sides.

- Amen. But Cuban cigars won't be as good if they're legal.
- It will not happen any time soon. They have not changed in anyway and why in the world should we go to them. They were the ones that broke sanctions.
- And what about the Cuban people? will they be treated any better & I'm not talking about the ellit few.
- First of all... Fidel has not retired from politics. If you know anything about communism, you know that the leader of the party has more power than the leader of the country... Fidel will still be the party leader. He will still run the show.
- Fidel is gone but It is Brother in charge I don't see anything changing in Cuba so why should the U.S stance change first they need to free the political prisoners.....then the U.S should immediately be back in negotiations
- Nope. No policy has changed there. If anything it will get worse.
- Just because Castro's brother in office does not mean that things will change in that country. Who else thinks that Fidel died last year?????
- Oh god another democrat who thinks they can be diplomatic.
- the cubans should be kept all alone on there island till we can get rid of the entire castro clan
- How would this benefit the citizens of the US? The Cubans are used to not buying our goods and it would be one more nation our businesses could go to find cheap labor.
- Letting bygones be bygones will be a slap in the face of the cuban people they 'd suffered 50 years under one of the worst left wing dictatorships the world has ever known, No sir, because as long as a member of the Castro clan continues to be in power, Cuba will continue to be a country without freedom, a country of hopelessness, no, what Cuba needs is no more Castros, and then, and only then, Cuba can renew the relationship it had with The United States, a free country, I don't know if you know this but before Castro, Cubans did not emigrate anywhere, and Castro came and destroyed the country. The answer is NO there should not be any talks with the Castro family, they are criminals and if anything, they should be prosecuted for their crimes.
