  1. cuba, cubans live longer than americans
  2. Cuba. Very cheap, good climate, free health care on a reasonable level. Mind you, I only based this opinion on the points you brought up.
  3. Since this is in Asia Pacific, I am going to say Thailand or the Philippines. Both are cheap to live and have lots to do. Beautiful beaches, nice people and good food....
  4. I am Canadian and I'm already thinking about my retirement. I'd go for the Philippines because of the nice warm weather and beautiful beaches, as well, people speaks English so I woudn't have any problems. Cuba? One, it's not an Asian country. The question is in Asia Pacific and not in the Carribeans. Don't get me wrong Cuba is a nice country and is very orderly. However, communism exists in Cuba. I went to Cuba one time and it is fabulous, just like in the Philippines. Philippines and Cuba share the same history. The Americans ruled over Puerto Rico, Cuba, Guam and the Philippines after Spain by the Treaty of Paris in the late 1800s. Although Cubans speak purely Spanish. Me no comprehende Espanol. But, Cuba Si! Viva a Cuba!
  5. If it were me and I couldn't retire in the US I would pick the Philippines just because the Cost of Living is low. I have family there as well. Most people speak English well. The weather is hot in some places. Cebu is supposed to have nice beaches. Bagiuo weather is nice, not too hot and not too cold. I've never been to Thailand though.
  6. East Malaysia lah. Beaches and jungles, people can speak English, cost of living is low and there's less likelihood of a coup, bomb threats or kidnapping.
  7. Cebu in the Philippines. The local government of the island is preparing for many retirees from the countries of US, Japan and Europe. The medical tourism is developed or I think, developing. The place, climate, economy, and people of Cebu are among the factors for making it the best place to retire. I plan to retire on this island.
  8. cuba
  9. india
  10. cuba
  11. cebu
  12. I think Thailand is better. There is so much development in this country. I've been there last March 2007 and it's a great place to live. I'm also an Asian. If I had more money, I'd retire in Japan :D
