In your opinion where is the best place in the world to retire?
We would like no cold weather and no or very little taxes. We were thinking perhaps, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, South Africa or Mexico.

- the best place for me is definitely my room
- sedona, arizona. it's beautiful, i know that in mexico, unless you are a citizen, you can't own land, how's that for gratitude?
- Out of those you listed: Costa Rica. It is beautiful there!
- California, San Diego
- Panama. You won't regret it.
- Panama for sure! I am in Boquete right now (the Chiriqui province is big for retirement because it is hot all year but it has cool weather 65-75 during the day and cooler at night). Check out my group in Yahoo called Chiriqui - Panama. Panama has the best pensionado (you must be receiving a pension it can be from the government or private to get this benefit). Basically you can bring up to $10,000 in household goods with no entry taxes, a car every 2 years (the US cars are cheaper) with no taxes, and discounts - 25% in airplane tickets, 50% in hotels, in restaurants, doctors, medicines, movies, etc. Plus you pay no taxes, good health care, and a safe country.
