How can I renew my green card?

I am married to a U.S. citizen and lived in the U.S. for ten years. I know live with my same husband here in Panama as he is retired and we decided to live here. My Green Card has ex- pired. Can my husband apply for a renewal through the American Embassy here in Panama where we live. He is retired military and we are living togeather here in Panama.Since I did live and work legally while in the U.S. and we were married thorugh legal channels while he was in the military can I still renew my green card. Tks.

  1. uscis.gov. You should be able to find out what you have to do. Or phone the US Embassy is Panama and ask. I would think after 10 years, you are entitled to apply for citizenship. I think it may be 5 years, actually.

  3. Apply for legal citizenship. You are married to a citizen so you should have no trouble.
  4. Yes, you would have to go to a United States Embassy or Consolate to do it though.
  5. Pose your question to the US Department of state, or to your local Embassy.
  6. Call or go to the nearest American embassy and I am quiet positive they can provide you the answer and solution. I just don't understand why you did not apply for citizenship the whole time you were in the CONUS. Your now retired military husband should have seen to that green card way back then.
